Who runs it
Work Mail is a private, single-user tool. The person who runs it is the only user, and it only connects to their own Google accounts.
Google data it uses
- Gmail: reads messages. On one account it can also label, archive, draft, and send mail.
- Google Calendar: reads calendars and events. On one account it can also create and change events.
How the data is used
Only to help the owner read and sort their own mail and manage their own calendar. Every send and every calendar change needs the owner's approval first.
Where the data goes
Sign-in tokens are stored on the owner's computer, in files only the owner can read. Mail and calendar content is shown to the owner's AI assistant (Claude, by Anthropic) only to answer the owner's own requests.
Google user data is not sold, not shared with anyone else, and not used for advertising.
Work Mail's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
Access can be removed at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The owner then deletes the stored sign-in tokens.
